It's a disgrace!   3rd April and no one has left any comments on here for absolutely ages...

...so, to put things right, I have two:

1/. Great site and like the FFL Art page.

2/. Suggestion for Classic Album.   How about 'Poetic Champions Compose' By Van Morrison?   He is one of the few artists whose albums almost all have a 5 star rating on iTunes reviews.   This album is my personal favourite of his and conjures up memories of Sunday mornings living in Hertfordshire before my children came along to shatter the peace!!! In fact...

...I'm going to listen to it now whilst I'm working!

Blowing a force nine gale.
Freezing cold.
Sleet and snow falling almost horizontally.
Heaven isn't a place on Pendle today, is it?

Hi Paul

Me again.   Just dropped by to say hello.

I re-read some of your poetry. I can relate to "resting place" and to "9 days after 19" - I felt pretty much the same through most of my teens and like you couldn't understand why because life was otherwise normal and "should" have been happy.   It wasn't till afterwards I learned that I'd had depression and the next time it happened, I knew what to do about it.

Hope all is well with you,
Love
Sara

Hi
Nice work here Paul.
How about some lyrics from you, I could put some music to them and who knows we might have a song between us.

"I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I   couldn't find any"
Now thats funny.

Cheers

Hiya - got the link and thought I'd have a look.
Beautiful poetry - love it.   Also share a love of Pendle Hill - I used to have a gorgeous view over Pendle from my old room at my mam's.   My brother can still see Pendle from his house in Padiham.   I would be jealous, but I've got good views of Holcombe and Winter Hill.   Still kind of miss Pendle though.

Keep in touch

No more Pauline to provoke
No more Kilshaw to poke
No more to Ian, be aghast
No more Gavin to blast
No more Jack to idle by
No Crooky at which to sigh
No more Bob to diagnose
No more Brooke to brown nose
No more Count to berate
No more “managers” to hate
No more Jimmy to spoonerise
No more Spenny to rise
And the saddest thing of all
No more Ossy pies

Don't lose this one, it's bloody hard work.
I only had four cans of Guinness.

So, we near the end of our working life together.   Always remember though that it is not an end but a beginning.   We have nothing to lose but our chins (sic)!
